Zarb-e-Azb: 910 militants killed, 82 soldiers martyred: ISPR

The government of Pakistan decided to launch a military offensive in North Waziristan tribal region after a series of terror attacks in the country including attacks at Razzaqabad Police training centre and Karachi Airport.

Inter Service Public Relations, the media wing of the armed forces, in a statement said that Miranshah, Mir Ali, Datta Khel, Boya and Degan areas in North Waziristan have been cleared. It was also said that a 88 km highway along Khajoori, Mir Ali, Datta Khel and Miranshah areas has also been cleared from the terrorists.

The statement further said that 27 landmine

making factories alongwith a rocket and ammunition manufacturing factory were blown up. The media wing of Pakistan Army added that large numbers of explosives have also been destroyed by the military.

“42 militants have been killed in 2274 intelligence coordination operations whereas 114 militants have been apprehended”, ISPR said.

It was also said that 82 soldiers have embraced martyrdom whereas 269 were wounded in fighting with militants.

Relief efforts:

ISPR spokesman said that 19,376 tonnes of ration has been distributed amongst 570 displaced families of North Waziristan region whereeas 1,13,209 patients have been treated by the military.
