After countless photographs had been clicked and the stars had said plenty about their expectations and aspirations from Wrong Number, everyone made their way to the hall to begin the proceedings. After giving a brief description about the film and declaring to all that it was ‘a film made by Pakistanis and for Pakistanis’, the hostess invited Javed Sheikh, Danish Taimoor and Sohai Ali onstage. This is what Javed Sheikh had to say about his expectations from Wrong Number and his role as a butcher in the film.

“It’s not a wrong number, it’s a right number,” said Javed. The audience erupted with applause.”I’m essaying the role of a butcher for the first time in my life. Allah khair kray!”

Javed also heaped praise on Yasir Nawaz and said that he was a very skilled director. “Yasir had done a telefilm before, I told him he should do a feature film which would be great.”

Danish Taimoor also spoke on the occasion, praising the whole cast, team members as well as Yasir Nawaz. “It was Yasir’s first film which he was directing. Yet, amazingly he knew how to get the most out of us and how precise each scene should be,” said Danish. “It is not money or producers that make a film. Most of all, it is the passion that drives a movie towards success. Our team was passionate and filled with people who worked day and night to entertain the audience.”

“It’s an outright commercial film,” said Sohai. “People will go to the cinemas, derive maximum entertainment and have their money’s worth. I liked the script very much and had immense fun doing it.”

CEO ARY Digital Network Jerjees Seja also shared his expectations about the film. “When released, this movie will make people laugh harder than it did just now, when they viewed it behind-the-scenes,” said Jerjees Seja. “This movie will also be a resounding success just like 3 Bahadur, which has grossed more than Rs 5 crore at the box office. People are watching 3 Bahadur instead of Bollywood films.”

Yasir Nawaz chimed in with the much needed details about the film. “We needed a complete, commercial masala film. It was the need of our cinema industry. We have made a lot of films of varying genres, such as drama, action, romance. At the moment, ARY Films is supporting movies in Pakistan more than any other franchise.”

Jerjees Seja also stated that he believed that Wrong Number would gross big at the box office since it was a Pakistani movie and he had full faith in Pakistanis, who would go out of their way to support the film.

Loud cheers and thunderous applause filled the air as Shafqat Cheema made his way onstage. Waving to the jubilant attendees, Cheema apologized for the delay. He thanked Karachiites for their unwavering support, love and commitment towards him.

The event came to a close with a Q&A session, where writers, reporters and bloggers questioned the cast members in detail about the filmmaking process and their experiences. All in all, the promotional event held was an impressive one, which left audience members wanting more from Wrong Number.
