World’s media honours the true hero of Pakistan

Edhi was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2013 but had been unable to get a transplant due to frail health and age. He was receiving treatment at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT).

Pakistan is mourning and will miss a man who was always there to help its people whenever they called him.

The Guardian called him an ‘angel of mercy’ for his social welfare work that won both and global compliments and recognitions.


 

BBC also paid tribute to the Pakistani philanthropist who dedicated his entire life to the poor of his country.
