He was speaking to media after his oath-taking as Karachi mayor at Polo Ground.
The authorities have denied him permission to Quaid’s mausoleum saying they didn’t have order to allow him.
The mayor was told to first obtain protection order from the court to make any further visit from Polo Ground.

Mr. Akhtar requested the authorities to allow him to visit Mazar-e-Quaid.
Earlier, he was brought from prison under strict security cover to take oath as Karachi mayor. The court had issued protection order to allow travel of the mayor for oath-taking.
Addressing after being sworn in as mayor, the MQM leader was of the view that all political parties need to solve the problems of Karachi together dedicatedly.
“It is my request to all political leaders and their parties to work collectively for the development of Karachi because Sindh can only progress if Karachi progresses,” said Akhtar.
He said even though he wanted to work for the betterment of Karachi along with other political parties but was unable to do due to his imprisonment on false charges.
