RAWALPINDI: One of the country’s most valiant soldiers and Sitara-e-Jurrat recipient Sepoy Maqbool Hussain breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital Attock, Pakistan Army’s media wing announced on Tuesday night.
The brave soldier got injured and was taken prisoner by the Indian Army during 1965 war. He spent forty years in Indian jails and was released in 2005.
He was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat in 2009.
His funeral prayers will be offered on Wednesday with full military honours, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced.
