US considers Pakistan a vital country, says ambassador

WASHINGTON: Pakistani Ambassador in the United States Jalil Abbas Jillani has said that US considers Pakistan a vital country in the region, ARY News reported.

He was speaking at a luncheon hosted in his honour by Pak-American Business Association (PABA).

Jillani said that the Trump administration has hinted that it will cooperate with Pakistan.

He also said that the bilateral ties between the two countries are improving.

The envoy said that Pakistan requires America’s cooperation in the war against terrorism.

Chairman PABA Siddique Sheikh said that Ambassador Jillani played a key role in improving the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.

“He (Jillani) worked under challenging situations,” Sheikh added.
