Two more interim federal ministers sworn in

ISLAMABAD: Two more caretaker ministers sworn in on Wednesday (today) in a ceremony at President House in Islamabad.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman and retired Lt. General Khalid Naeem Lodhi here.

The ceremony was attended by Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasirul-Mulk, members of the federal cabinet and senior government officials.

The strength of the federal ministers has reached to eight with induction of two more members in the cabinet.

Earlier, a six-member cabinet of caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk was sworn in to guide Pakistan towards the general elections scheduled to be held on July 25.

Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, Barrister Syed Ali Zafar, Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Azam Khan and Professor Muhammad Yusuf Shaikh were inducted into the interim cabinet in the first phase.

Dr Akhtar was assigned the ministries of Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Statistics, Planning, Development and Reform. She was also handed the additional portfolios of Commerce and Textile and Industries and Production.

Abdullah Hussain Haroon was assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Security Division. His additional ministerial portfolios include Defence and Defence Production.

Barrister Zafar given the portfolios of Law and Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Information Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage.

Prime Minister Mulk had indicated shortly after assuming oath about setting up a small cabinet and holding the general elections on time.
