KARACHI: After 30 hours of repair work, the tracks which were closed to all kind of rail traffic after 13 bogies of a freight train detailed near Rahim Yar Khan became operational on Wednesday.
However, trains continued to face delays, angering passengers waiting for trains at different railway stations across the country.
The Pakistan Express departed for Rawalpindi from Karachi after a 17-hour delay. The Millat Express, Tezgam Express and Green Line were also way behind their schedule.
Trains which were scheduled to arrive in the city have yet not reached the city’s railway stations.
Railway traffic was suspended on up and down tracks after 13 bogies of a freight train derailed at Kot Samaba near Rahim Yar Khan.

Earlier, three coaches of a passenger train had derailed owing to a blast on a railway track near Shaheed Aziz Billo check post in Dera Murad Jamali, killing at least three people, including a woman.
