ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur on Thursday said that the Tourism Corridor would help boost foreign investment, ARY News reported.
Chairing a meeting of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), Ali Amin Gandapur said that the Tourism Corridor would also help reduce poverty in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).
He said that the government would include ‘Tourism Corridor’ project in PSDP and added that Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan had significant importance for tourism.
The minister said that boosting tourism was among the top priorities of the Prime Minister Imran Khan led government. Gandapur said that the government was taking immediate measures for the rehabilitation of the displaced people of nearby areas of the Line of Control (LoC).
Ali Amin Gandapur said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was devising plan for the development of AJK and added that provision of basic facilities to the masses was the top priority of the current government.

Earlier, the federal government, on February 4, had approved formation of National Tourism Coordination Board for rebuilding Pakistan’s image on tourism front at the international level.
The decision was taken during a meeting of Federal Tourism Task Force which was presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
