The area wore a deserted look even after fourth day of the incident with a curfew-like situation. The report of the incident has also been presented to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
Police on Wednesday had detained over 40 villagers who were part of the mob that brutally killed the Christian couple.
It is learnt that announcements were made from
mosques on Tuesday asking villagers to gather at the Yousaf brick kiln where Shama, 25, and her husband Shahzad Masih worked as bonded labourers. Scores of charged people from three villages took out the couple from a room (where they had taken shelter) after tearing apart its roof. The mob assaulted the couple before putting them into the kiln’s furnace.
