Three-member committee formed to probe stampede deaths

In a committee formed by the provincial government, Secretary Environment Punjab Iqbal Muhammad Chohan is made its head. The other two members are DIG Ali Amir and Special Secretary Home Shoaib Akbar.

The committee will garner all the evidences pertaining to the incident and present in its report to the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.

Sources told that the committee will also contact PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi to collect more details of the tragedy.

Seven people died in a stampede at PTI rally in Multan when people rushed to leave the venue after the rally ended on Friday. PTI chief Imran Khan has blamed the Punjab government for not giving access to rally participants of all six gates to leave the venue.
