Three labourers of road project killed in Balochistan

KECH: At least three labourers were killed in a firing incident in Balochistan’s Kech district on Friday, ARY News reported.

The labourers were working on a road construction project in the Hoshab area when they were attacked by the armed militants, a senior official said.

A labourer was killed immediately in the attack, while the other two succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. The attackers managed to flee from the scene on a motorcycle.

The law enforcement personnel including Levies and Frontier Corps officials reached the spot to initiate an investigation into the incident.

The labourers had been working on the construction of a road under the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has condemned the attack and expressed his grief on acts of terrorism targeting labourers.

Last year, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had inaugurated Sorab-Hoshab Highway N-85 which is a part of the western alignment of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and connects northern and southern communication routes.
