Intelligence personnel and police on a cue conducted a raid at a house in a nearby village, which was turned into a shootout between the terrorists and the law enforcement personnel, District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Faisal said. Two personnel of secret agency were injured in terrorists’ firing. In retaliatory firing of law enforcement officials six terrorists were killed, DPO Okara said.
The terrorists were sheltered at a house owned by a local resident Naeem Jhakkar, police official said.
Police found DPO office maps and arms including Kalashnikovs, explosives, rocket launcher , a suicide vest and detonators from the possession of the slain militants, who said to be member of an outlawed terrorist group, official said.
In the operation rooftop of the house collapsed but dead bodies of the terrorists have been retrieved from the debris, DPO said.
The slain terrorists seem like Afghan nationals, the official added.
