LONDON: A Pakistani-origin British taxi driver on Friday conceded that he harassed Jemima Khan, ex-wife of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, by calling more than a thousand times and sending hundreds of text messages, ARY News reported.
Hassan Mahhmood, 27, was pleaded guilty for harassing the the 43-year-old journalist for more than a year. He confessed that he got Jemima’s number after she ordered his taxi through a cab hailing app.
Prosecutor Rukhsana Ali told Isleworth Crown Court that the taxi driver bombarded her with 1,182 calls, 203 messages and “loads” of messages on Whatsapp, using 18 different cell phones.

The court was apprised that Mahhmood became obsessed with the journalist after she posed for a selfie with him.
Counsel Umar Ali said Mahhmood was a “big fan” of Khan because of her marriage with his hero, Imran Khan.
The court will announce a verdict in this case on October 26.
