Tahir ul Qadri’s PAT to join PTI in November 2 sit-in

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir ul Qadri on Monday announced that his party will participate in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Islamabad sit-in on November 2, ARY News reported.

Talking exclusively  to ARY News, Tahir ul Qadri himself said that his party, in principle, agreed to support PTI’s struggle to root out corruption from Pakistan.

The cleric, however, did not promise his own participation.

“I have directed Secretary General PAT Khurram Nawaz Gandapur to hold a meeting with PTI and finalize the modalities in this regard, whatever will come out, everybody will know, ” he added.

Earlier, AML chief Sheikh Rasheed announced during an ARY News talkshow that Chairman PTI Imran Khan had invited Qadri through telephone to participate in sit-in which the PAT chief accepted.

“This decision will shut mouths of critics now. There is no city in Pakistan where PAT supporters are not present in tens and thousands of numbers,” said Rasheed.

It is pertinent to note here that PTI has announced to stage a protest sit-in in the federal capital on November 2.

Khan wants Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to face an inquiry into Panama papers scandal or tender his resignation.

PTI chairman had already clarified that this time, the siege of the federal capital would continue until the resignation of PM or his readiness to face inquiry.

“This protest is for all of Pakistan, this protest is to show the global community that just like Iceland and the UK held their leaders accountable, the people of Pakistan too are ready for real democracy where these pseudo democrats are brought to the corridors of accountability and justice,” PTI had announced on its Facebook page.
