SUKKUR: A bridge on Rohri-Saleh Patt Road near RD-71 collapsed due to flooding water pressure, ARY News reported on Monday.
The bridge on a saline water drain (Seem Nullah), was said to be in a precarious condition.
Traffic suspended after collapse of the bridge, which was connecting Sukkur to Saleh Patt, Choondko and Sanghar. People of the area facing hardships after breaking of the bridge.
Local administration has failed to take notice of the situation and mitigate it with an alternative to address disruption of the communication link.
Moreover, in Dadu 35 more villages have submerged in the floodwater and several houses have collapsed.
Flood affected people are sitting on roadsides under the sky without any help from the authorities. Floodwater has also drowned crops standing on thousands of acres of land in the area.
Huge areas of Sindh are still underwater and hundreds of thousands of people have been forced from their homes. The government says the lives of nearly 33 million people have been disrupted in unprecedented flooding in Pakistan.
