ISLAMABAD: With MNA Ayesha Gulalai levelling harassment allegations at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders whipped up a new debate on news bulletins and talks shows, Imran sees ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Jang Group’s owner Mir Shakeel ur Rehman’s hand behind ‘the slander’ aimed at tarnishing its image.
In a tweet, Imran Khan said, “My challenge to Sharif- MSR (Mir Shakeel ur Rehman) mafia; Do your worst, stoop as low as you can; me & my struggle-hardened party will become ever stronger IA (InshAllah).”
A day before, Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, the MNA who announced to leave PTI, in a press conference accused the party chief Imran Khan and his cronies of sending inappropriate and explicit text messages to female members.
Gulalai categorically rejected the PTI claim that she demanded party ticket to contest elections from NA-1, and said that there are several other reasons which led to the decision to leave PTI, one of which was indecent messages from Imran Khan and his cronies.
Addressing a press conference this evening, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Gulalai was paid Rs 50 million to defame Khan. Gulalai hurled allegations that were utterly baseless and couldn’t be proved. “The party has sought resignation of Ayesha Gulalai from her National Assembly seat and if she refuses to do so, we will get her disqualified from the Election Commission of Pakistan.”
