PESHAWAR: Two consecutive blasts near Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan resulted in the injuries to at least six personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) on Friday.
According to the security officials, the personnel deployed near the border crossing were injured in two consecutive blasts. The nature of the blasts is yet to be ascertained, they added.
Following the incident, the border crossing at Torkham was closed for any kind of movement.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, the officials said, adding the security forces reached the site immediately after the explosions and launched a search operation in the area to hunt for perpetrators.
The blasts came a day after Pakistan, Afghanistan, and United States held talks in Kabul and resolved to continue the fight against the common threat of terrorism.
At a tripartite meeting, areas of mutual security interests and concerns were deliberated upon.
The three sides in trilateral talks expressed their commitment to eliminate the militant Islamic State through information sharing, complementary efforts and enhanced cooperation.
In the Pak-Afghan bilateral meeting, important issues linked to cross border fire, attacks, counter-terrorism, coordinated actions on respective side along the border and detainees exchange were discussed.
Both sides agreed to make progress in line with the commitments made at recent high level meetings and formulate an action plan, which will contribute towards improving security along the Pak-Afghan border through enhanced cooperation.
A six member high level Pakistan military delegation headed by DG Military Operations Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza participated in the meetings.
