ISLAMABAD: Newly-appointed Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Monday vowed to work hard for the uplift of Pakistan Railways.
During his visit to the ministry in Islamabad, he said corruption will be eliminated in the ministry at all levels.
The minister said the railways is facing deficit of millions of rupees and he will work to cut down this deficit.
The 20-member cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan sworn in at President House on Monday. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the federal cabinet. Mr Khan was also present on the occasion.
The federal cabinet comprises 20 members of which 15 are ministers while five others will discharge their duties as advisers to the premier.
Sheikh Rasheed, who heads the Awami Muslim League (AML), was given the portfolio of the railway minister as he previously held the same portfolio under the Musharraf regime.
