Senate opposition boycotts President’s parliament address

ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties in the Senate boycotted the joint parliament address by the President Mamnoon Hussain today, ARY News reported.

The meeting of Senate opposition parties was held with Chaudhary Aitzaz Ahsan in the chair, which decided to boycott President’s joint parliament address after completion of one year of the PML-N government. The meeting was attended by members of Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Pakistan People’s Party, Awami National Party and Balochistan National Party.

Senators Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Birjees Tahir tried to persuade ANP members to end their boycott, but to no avail.

Dar even amicably grabbed hand of Haji Adeel to take him to the session, but Adeel refused to go along.

The ANP senator said the protest will continue until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attended the Senate session.

“If PM Nawaz is a loin, he should come to the Senate,” said Haji Adeel.

Lion is a symbol of Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N.
