ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani on Friday expressed dissatisfaction on the government’s reply over Dawn Leaks in which it was told that amicable solution to the issue has strengthened democracy in the country, ARY News reported.
Expressing resentment on a press release, chairman senate Raza Rabbani queried about the two parties, which were referred in the statement.
“Two parties, what does it mean”, the chairman asked.
Responding to a motion moved by leader of the opposition regarding Dawn leaks in senate, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said that some forces wanted to destabilize democratic system over the issue but the matter was handled and resolved prudently.
Sheikh replied that the matter has been resolved by stating that it’s neither anyone’s defeat nor victory.
He also urged all the political parties and the media to end debate on Dawn Leaks in the best interest of Pakistan, for stability of democracy and supremacy of the constitution.
Joining the argument, Senator Aitzaz Ahsas said that the ruling party has scapegoated Pervez Rasheed, Tariq Fatemi, and Rao Tehseen to safeguard daughter of the premier.
The opposition legislators also staged walkout of the upper house over non-appearance of Interior Minister. The session was adjourned for unspecified period of time.
