“Your security is our top priority”, CM Shah tells Chinese ambassador

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has said, “Chinese are our brothers and their security is our top most priority”, ARY News reported on Saturday.

This he said during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador, Yao Jing and the Consul general who called on him at the chief ministers’ house today.

The Chinese officials thanked chief minister for prompt action by the Law Enforcing  Agencies (LEAs) that foiled attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

Mr. Shah informed the visiting officials that, he has ordered for the security audit of all consulates, situated in the city, adding bullet proof jackets will be provided to all police personnel performing duties at consulates to safeguard their lives.

It is pertinent to mention here that, security forces and the police had foiled the terror attack targeting the Chinese Consulate in Karachi yesterday. The foiled attack left three terrorists dead, martyrdom of two policemen and death of two civilians.

Later in the day, the chief minister reached the Chinese consulate and held meeting with the Chinese consul general to review the situation and inquire about the attack.

The meeting that took place at the Chinese consulate in Clifton Block 4, an area of the metropolis was attended by Inspector General (IG) Sindh, additional IG Karachi and director general Rangers.

The participants of the meeting were briefed about the attack and the response from law enforcing agencies to foil the terror-bid.

On the other hand, the police had registered a first information report (FIR) of the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

According to text of the FIR, police had killed all three terrorists during an exchange of fire at the consulate’s entrance gate.

Earlier, police arrested two facilitators involved in the attack. One was arrested from Karachi while the other was taken into custody from Shahdadpur.
