A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk heard the arguments of the counsels of the two sides and declared the petitions non-maintainable.
The court citing Article 225 of the Constitution said that the election tribunals were in place to address grievances pertaining to elections on various seats.
Three petitions were filed in the apex court by Kokab Iqbal Advocate, Zahir Sarfaraz and a former Supreme Court judge Justice (retd) Siddiqui.
The petitioners had pleaded to the bench to order fresh elections as the magnetic ink used in polls was defective.
