Saudi defence minister arrives in Pakistan

He was received by his counterpart Khawaja Asif who welcomed him at the airport.

Later, he met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House.  Army Chief General Raheel Sharif was also present on the occasion. They discussed a range of issues including matters of bilateral relations and regional situation.

He is also expected to discuss mutual cooperation in defence and security matters and fight against terrorism.

This is the second visit for the Saudi minister who had arrived in Pakistan in January this year. The son of the Saudi king Salman is considered one of the most influential men in the country. 

He is second deputy prime minister and the youngest minister of defense in the world, and the chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs.
