CEO ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal presents $100, 000 cheque to CJP for dam fund

ISLAMABAD: Fulfilling his pledge to donate for the national cause, President and CEO ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal on Monday presented a $100, 000 cheque to Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar as a donation for Prime Minister and Chief Justice Dam Fund, ARY News reported. 

CEO ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal had announced to donate 100, 000 US Dollars for the cause on September 7,  minutes after Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the nation and overseas Pakistanis to contribute generously to the fund to save country from the looming water crisis.

Salman Iqbal, who also owns Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings, had urged all Pakistanis to help the Chief Justice of Pakistan and PM Imran Khan towards this national cause.

“This is a small contribution for a great cause and can pave way for a better future for all Pakistanis,” said Salman Iqbal.

It is pertinent to note here that ARY Digital Network was the first media group to do a live telethon to raise funds for Diamer Basha And Mohmand Dam Fund.

About the dam fund

The Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund 2018 was established by the federal government in pursuance of a Supreme Court order for raising funds for the construction of the two dams.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was the first to donate money for the fund as on July 5, he deposited Rs1Million as donation in the account titled “DIAMER BASHA AND MOHMAND DAM FUND–2018′.

The fund, which was merged with PM’s fund by PM Imran Khan on September 7, can receive donations and contributions from both domestic and international donors, individuals and companies, and the general public has been requested to contribute generously.
