Asif Zardari, speaking to the gathering at Garhi Khuda Bux on the death anniversary of former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, said that nearly hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis work in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states and the ‘safety of those countries is an economic need of Pakistan’.
The former president said that no one can be allowed to pose a threat to Saudi Arabia’s security.
He also said that he will stand with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in every situation nut requested the premier not leave him high and dry.
“The prime minister does injustice to smaller provinces and does not even consult them on key issues”, he complained.
He also criticized his party’s ministers over their performance in the province and warned them of not giving party tickets, if the situation was not improved.
“The tickets for the party are not cheap. There is a history of martyrs and jail terms behind these tickets”, he said.
Zardari advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman to return to the assemblies and help the opposition in making the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) autonomous.
He started his speech by voicing slogans praising Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Bhuttoism.
