KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly today adopted a resolution in support of military operation in volatile North Waziristan Agency (NWA) that began a day ago, ARY News reported.
The resolution was moved by MQM’s Erum Azeem Farooqui and Dr. Sikander Mandhro, who is also a law and parliamentary affairs ministers, of the PPP.
An excerpt of the resolution reads, “… Entire nation is standing by army in this time. We extend complete support to the Army in launching offensive against terrorists in North Waziristan…”
Military launched operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in the NWA on Sunday to root out militants from the restive region. At least 140 militants have so far been killed in air strikes by PAF jet fighters.
A budget session is currently underway in Sindh Assembly with MPAs mooting different proposals to be incorporated in the budget before it gets passed by the house later this month.
The session was adjourned till tomorrow.
