He appealed the people to gather in large numbers to the protest venue outside Parliament House in Islamabad to bring about ‘real’ positive change in what he described as the corrupt political system of the country.
He made this announcement on Wednesday night while addressing his supporters and activists at a sit-in after meeting the government delegation headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The PAT chief shortly after turning up at the container after meeting the government team told the mammoth gathering that talks with the government had completely been broken down.
“We had set two conditions – registration of FIR of Model Town incident and resignation of FIR against 21 nominated persons including Punjab chief minister and other ministers – for little extension in deadline but the government declined to accept these legal demands,” incensed Dr. Qadri told.
He said now the people will take decision about the government. The authority for decisive action has now been transferred to the people, the PAT chief added.
Soon after the government delegation left, another government-backed team comprising Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad and Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar also visited Dr. Qadri, however they too failed to convince the protesting cleric in delaying his deadline.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has also announced to make final announcement at 6pm today. He had also stated yesterday that there was now no room left for talks with the government, as it was non-serious in addressing demands of the people.
