Govt to provide every possible relief to flood victims in Balochistan: Zubaida Jalal

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal on Friday said that the government would not leave any stone unturned in providing relief to the flood affectees in Balochistan.

Zubaida Jalal said in a statement that the people of Balochistan wuold never be left alone in this critical situation and added that the government was taking adequate measures to rescue and provide relief to the flood victims.

She said that National Disaster Management Authority, personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) and security forces were providing relief to the flood affectees in the province.

The minister said that her ministry was also contributing to this by providing shelter and food items to the flood victims. She said that they had dispatched a relief food package for the flood affected areas of Balochistan.

Giving details about the food package, she said that the package included 100 tents, 500 blankets, thousands of Kilograms of food items including floor, rice, pulses, cereals, Sugar milk water and dry fruits.

Earlier, personnel of the Pakistan army had carried out rescue and relief operations in Lasbela, Makran and other flood-hit areas of Balochistan.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces reached the areas affected by flash floods caused by heavy rains and snowfall and moved the people trapped there to safety via military helicopters.
