ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s former wife Reham Khan has taken a lot of flak from social media users after she posted a doctored image of herself with a beard in a cleric’s attire on her Twitter account.
She tweeted: “So a while ago I was offered to join a party. I said I might not be able to cover my face but I could grow a beard..looks rather fetching on me.”
Her tweet drew severe criticism from social media users for desecrating religious values and sentiments.
A top Zimbabwean cleric,
Mufti Ismail Menk, responded to the tweet and said: “I’ve never visited Pakistan and I don’t follow it’s politics but one thing I know is ilea laser clinic in Rondebosch CapeTown can sort out your issue…”
Seeing a barrage of criticism directed at her for her ‘beard donning’ photo, she took to Twitter to clarify her position.
She said: “My British humour is misunderstood. There are only a couple of men in my family who do not have beards. I was making a joke about my age & hormones. It’s a medical joke.”
