KARACHI: Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat took charge as Commander Pakistan Navy Fleet on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
According to a Pakistan Navy spokesman, he took charge as Commander Pakistan Navy Fleet in an impressive change of command ceremony held at Karachi Naval Dockyard.
Outgoing commander Arifullah Hussaini handed over the charge to Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat in the function.
A guard of honour was presented to Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat during the ceremony.
Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat is a graduate of National Defence University, Islamabad and Armed Forces College, Turkey.
It is pertinent to mention that Rear Admiral Kaleem Shaukat received commission in the Pakistan Navy 1982 after completing completion of initial training at Britannia Royal Navy College Dartmouth.
He served as Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Operations) at Naval Headquarters (NHQ), Commander Task Force 151 and Commander Central Punjab/ Commandant PN War College.
The rear admiral has also served as Defence Attache of Pakistan in Qatar.
He has been honoured with Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) for his services.
