Rangers recover weapons near MQM headquarters in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Thursday raided a house in Azizabad area and recovered a large amount of weapons and ammunition, ARY News reported. 

The paramilitary raided house no. 512 owned by one named Muhammad Amir near the Khurshid Memorial Hall in Azizabad, the now sealed headquarters of the Muttahida Quami Movement.

The weapons were recovered from a concealed wall inside store room. It includes twenty sub-machine guns, two light machine guns, one G3 rifle, and ten thousand rounds of ammunition.

Peace necessary for economic prosperity: DG Rangers 

Director General Rangers Major General Muhammad Saeed on Thursday said that economic prosperity is closely linked with peace in the country.

The paramilitary chief interacted with traders during a visit to Korangi Industrial Traders Association, and discussed the increase in business activities and the prevailing law and order situation.

He appreciated the pivotal role of the Landhi and Korangi industrial areas in the economy of the country. He said that Rangers will continue its efforts to restore peace and the protection of the traders.

The traders welcomed him and appreciated the role of the Rangers to restore peace in the city, and expressed all necessary support to maintain it.

They vowed that no financial assistance will be provided to any anti state-elements, while they will stand together with the security forces.
