Rangers arrest street criminals, extortionists in Karachi raids

KARACHI: At least 17 suspected criminals including three extortionists were arrested during raids in different parts of Karachi on Saturday, ARY News reported.

Arms and narcotics were recovered from the possession of arrested criminals, Rangers spokesperson said.

The raids on tip off were conducted in Nabi Bakhsh, Kharadar, Napier Colony, Baloch Colony, Mubina Town and Awami Colony areas where the law enforces nabbed 13 street criminals.

Three extortionists belonging to gang war were taken into custory from Kalakot, Garden and Mithadar areas.

An accused person in sedition charges was arrested by the Rangers’ personnel from Nabi Bakhsh area.

Earlier, Rangers and police arrested 14 suspects during search and combing operations in different areas of Karachi in the wee hours of Saturday.

The joint operation was conducted in Sachal area and Bhitaiabad and other adjacent areas of Karachi airport. Rangers also carried out a search operation in Sector F, Manzoor Colony area.

During door to door searching, they verified biodata of suspected persons.

Police said 14 suspects were detained during door to door searches. Police said they were released after verification of their biodata.
