This he said in a meeting with Speaker of the British House of Lords Lord Fowler. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways and means to enhance mutual cooperation between the Senate of Pakistan and the British House of Lords and to exchange parliamentary information and procedures.
Rabbani emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in building and strengthening relationship between the two countries. He also underlined the importance of exchange of parliamentary delegations.
The chairman drew attention of the Lord Speaker to the blatant violation of human rights in IOK that led to countless deaths and injuries to the innocent civilians.
He also highlighted the use of the pellet bullets by the Indian forces as a result of which hundreds of people including children have been inflicted with debilitating injuries such as loss of eyesight.
Lord Fowler expressed condolence with the injured and families of martyred victims as a result of Indian atrocities.
He assured the chairman senate that UK will play its role regarding barbarism being orchestrated in Indian held Kashmir.

Rabbani also asked him that British soil should not be allowed to be used to incite violence in Pakistan. The concerned authorities should take action against any such elements.
The chairman extended the invitation to the Lord Speaker to visit Pakistan in near future, which was accepted by Lord Fowler.
It is pertinent here to mention that some 70 civilians have been killed and thousands injured in the worst violence to hit the Muslim-majority territory since 2010.
Several separatist groups have for decades fought Indian soldiers — currently numbering around 500,000 — deployed in the territory. They demand independence for the region, its merger with Pakistan or referendum according to the United Nations resolution in this regard.
Tens of thousands of people, mostly civilians, have died in the fighting.
