Qureshi, Mazari meet Shah; discuss appointment of new CEC

According to details, the post of the CEC has been vacant, for which PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Dr Shireen Mazari met Syed Khursheed Shah and held consultation with him regarding the appointment of a suitable person on this key post.

Both the PTI leaders also held a detailed discussion with the Opposition Leader on the electoral reforms in the country, for which the PTI has been repeatedly demanding for quite some time.

Earlier, Justice Nasir ul Mulk was working

as the acting CEC of Pakistan, however the post fell vacant after he was appointed the new Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan, upon Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani’s retirement on Saturday, July 5.

PTI has been alleging time and again that PMLN and PPP with mutual consent had appointed their Election Commissioner earlier to May-11 General Elections, in order to achieve their desired results, despite of the fact that PTI itself had supported the appointment of Fakhruddin G Ibrahim as the CEC.
