Quaid-e-Azam University bags coveted top university spot
The second place was secured by University of Agriculture in Faisalabad and University of Punjab in Lahore secured the third place. It is pertinent to mention here that a couple of universities, namely the Allama Iqbal Open University and Virtual University were excluded from the list for providing incomplete data. Another important fact which must not be overlooked is that universities included in the list are those that were awarded charter before June 30 2009. Several universities were excluded from the list, which were awarded charter after June 30 2009. Unlike its previous rankings, the universities were generally ranked and not listed under small, medium or large categories.
HEC conducted its evaluation based on maintenance and implementation of teaching quality, quality assurance, researches produced in universities and facilities for social integration and community development.
IBA secures top berth in business schools category
The reputable Institute of Business Administration (IBA) bagged the top spot, among business universities in Pakistan. It was followed in second lead by Lahore School of Economics and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), which came in third.
AKU tops list in medicine category
Agha Khan University secured first place among the medicinal category whereas Lahore’s University of Health Sciences came in second. DOW University of Health Sciences came in third.
NUST bags top spot for Engineering and Technology discipline
Nust secured top place among the engineering and technology universities of Pakistan, removing previous number 1 Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences and placing it at number 2.
National College of Arts comes first followed by IVS
National College of Arts (NCA) secured top place followed by Indus Valley School School of Art and Architecture. Arts was the disciple selected for which these two universities were ranked.
University of Agriculture tops list of Agriculture/Veterinary disciple
Faisalabad’s University of Agriculture topped the list among universities ranked under the disciple of Agriculture/Veterinary and was followed in second place by University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in Lahore.
