He was addressing a press conference through video link from Canada where he make the announcement.
Qadri said that he would return from Canada on 15 June and will stage a sit-in on 17 June in solidarity with the loss of lives in the Model Town incident and the lack of action taken against the perpetrators. He said that leaders of various political parties will also take part in the sit-in.
Qadri expressed resentment over the lackluster attitude of the government on the investigative procedure in the incident. He urged Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to provide them justice.
He said the present government was going through a sensitive period and predicted that it will not be able to complete its constitutional mandate.
The cleric denied reports that he intended to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his brief stay in London to inquire about his health.
At least 14 people were killed and more than 100 were injured during the violent clashes which ensued between the Punjab Police and activists of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek on 17th June 2014.
The Police attempted to remove barriers outside the offices of Minhaj-ul-Quran and the residence of Qadri which led to standoff after which police opened fire resulting in the death of several activists.
The importance of Qadri grew in the politics of Pakistan after the incident. He had vowed to seek justice and had called it the worst form of state terrorism. It has been observed that the government acted aggressively over the incident.
