Punjab govt finalizing draft for new LB system: Aleem Khan

LAHORE: Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has said, after the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan, work on local bodies (LB) draft is rapidly underway which would strengthen financially and administratively to the new member of this system.

Talking to a delegation, who called on him at his office, Aleem Khan said the new local bodies system for Punjab is now with Law Department to give it final shape while after this it would be tabled in Punjab Assembly for legislation.

He said that election of mayor would be direct and on party basis while tehsil and city governments would be established as soon as possible.

Abdul Aleem Khan said that the previous government deliberately put the local body’s representatives toothless so that each and every penny could be at the disposable of so called khadim-e-aalaa but now altogether changes would be brought on the lines of developed countries.

 The senior minister lauded

the achievements made in the tour of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China and said that after Saudi Arabia and UAE positive response from China would be a milestone for the real progress and prosperity of Pakistan and especially in this crucial time it would be a big sigh of relief to complete big projects including economic corridor.

He added that some certain forces are frightened of the achievements of the current government and were busy in conspiracies to foil the endeavours of the present leadership.

Aleem Khan further said that problems of the masses are being solved on priority basis and added that unemployment is major issue of youth and the current government would take special measures to increase job opportunities.

He slammed the previous government and said that it had ruined the basic structure and corruption has destroyed the public sector system.
