PTI says Nisar’s remarks on inquiry report ‘attack on SC’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf says rebuking statement of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Quetta inquiry commission report is an explicit attack on the Supreme Court.

Speaking to media here, senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his party would give its statement on Nisar’s remarks in the National Assembly.

He questioned why the interior minister termed Quetta commission report ‘one-sided’. We are unclear on what basis did the minister criticize that report, he asked.

On Saturday, Nisar reacted to Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s inquiry commission report into the August 8 carnage in Quetta and said the inquiry report was one-sided and without the point of view of the interior ministry.

The report that surfaced on Friday criticized the role of the interior ministry and regretted the minister on October 21 met Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi, the head the proscribed Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat to listen to his demands and conceded to them as per the media reports.

Shah claimed that the government was clueless and making hasty moves at the moment.

He demanded to the prime minister to appear in the parliament and clear the air.

He hinted to consult other opposition parties before the National Assembly session tomorrow (December 18).
