ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and country’s likely new prime minister Imran Khan on Monday said that his party’s government will make all efforts to take all decisions within the parliament and will strengthen the legislature, ARY News reported.
Addressing his party and allies’ parliamentarians, the PTI chief said that his party will strengthen parliament and he will attend the house dutifully in order to answer questions regarding governance.
He assured all his party’s allies that he will take them onboard on all matters of national importance and thanked all the parties who supported PTI.
The PTI chief repeated that his party is ready for any sort of scrutiny in any constituency the opposition wants despite the fact that they were not given the same opportunity by past government.
The session was attended by MQM’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Kishwar Zehra, Aminul Haq, BNP’s Akhtar Mengal, AML chief Sheikh Rasheed and PTI’s parliamentarians among others.
It is pertinent to note here that the inaugural session of 15th National Assembly was held earlier in the day wherein the 331 members of the lower house of the parliament took oath.
Outgoing Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who presided over the inaugural session of the 15th National Assembly, administered the oath to the newly elected members of the parliament.
