PTI delegation gets briefing on anti-corruption steps in China

BEIJING: A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) held a meeting with the top officials of the Central Disciplinary Commission of the Communist Party of China, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

A 20-member delegation of PTI left for China on a seven-day visit on Monday. PTI Central Secretary General Arshad Daad is leading the party’s delegation.

The Chinese government and the Communist Party’s officials gave a detailed briefing to the PTI delegation members about the measures taken in China to curb corrupt practices and to clean the country of the corrupt elements.

The PTI delegation was also briefed about the steps China takes to bring back corrupt people who escape abroad after corruption.

The Chinese officials informed the PTI team that those convicted over charges of corruption, even the President of China could not extend them pardon.

PTI Central Secretary General Arshad Daad thanked the Chinese officials for their briefing over the issue. He also presented a memorial shield to the Chinese leader.

The PTI delegation during its stay in China will also be briefed on Beijing’s political history and the Chinese ruling party’s successes in alleviation of poverty in the country.

Earlier, the Radio Pakistan reported that both the parties are expected to hold meetings where they discuss matters of bilateral value.

A briefing on China’s political history and inter-departmental arrangements will also be given to the PTI delegation.
