ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Wednesday passed the Protection of Pakistan Bill 2014, ARY News reported.
The Senate has earlier passed the anti-terrorism bill unanimously.
The law will be enforced for two year in the country.
Federal Minister of Science and Technology Zahid Hamid had introduced the bill in the lower house today.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also arrived in the assembly session to attend the house proceedings.
The Senate on Monday unanimously passed the Protection of Pakistan Bill 2014 which permits security forces to shoot suspects on sight after warning.
The government says that it was very necessary to pass the bill to counter the activities of terrorists across the country.
Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah during debate on the bill said that the military needs unanimous support during the North Waziristan operation.
PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed reservations over the piece of legislation.
MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar said that a strict law has been needed to boost the morale of the armed forces.
The passage of the bill in the upper house became possible following the government`s acceptance of over a dozen opposition-proposed amendments to the draft of the law.
