Prime suspect in British national’s murder case surrenders to police

However, Shakeel, who has presented himself before Mangla police, has been granted bail before arrest by the high court.

Second husband of Samia, Mukhtar Kazim, had nominated Shakeel in her murder. A beauty therapist by profession from Bradford, Samia died on July 13 when she was visiting her family in Jhelum. Her husband seemed positive that her family killed her for marrying him who was seen as an ‘outsider.’

Postmortem report of Samia shows only one scar on right side of her neck. While, forensic report of the dead body would further determine future of the case, whether it was a natural death or a murder.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had ordered a fair and prompt investigation into the murder case of the British national.

The interior minister had asked the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi and the District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum to ensure that justice is served in the case.

DPO Jhelum said two close relatives of Shakeel had also been taken into custody for investigation. Police have also included Mukhtar Kazim in investigation into the case.
