Prime Minister House spent Rs 10 million on tea in a year

The prime minister, in the recent past, was in a media spotlight for spending whooping Rs 638 million on foreign trips since he assumed his office in 2013.

However, the spending on tea at the prime minister office was also echoed during the parliament session today.

Couple of years ago, National Nutrition Survey was released showing around 60 per cent of Pakistan’s total population is facing food insecurity. Of these households, households, almost 50 per cent women and children were malnourished.

For the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Rs842 million (Rs842,000,000) for the fiscal year of 2015-16 was allocated in the budget 2015-16. The daily expense of Prime Minister’s Secretariat and House was fixed at Rs2.306 million for the current financial year.
