Presidential form of government failed terribly in country: Rabbani

In his address on Monday at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services, Rabbani said that presidential form of government was introduced in the country in 1962, which had failed terribly. He said that youngsters of the country are being made to believe that politicians are corrupt.

He added that corruption is a national issue and its responsibility of everyone to get rid of it. He said that the problems of the country will never be resolved unless the people understand the Parliament’s power and efficiency.

“Some elements are trying to weaken the parliamentary democracy. They themselves will be responsible for the repercussions of it”, Rabbani warned.

The Senate Chairman said that the whole nation is still suffering from the violent trends that were set in the country during military regimes especially that of former president General Zia-ul-Haq.
