PPP to flex political muscles in PTI stronghold today

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is all set to hold today a public meeting in the provincial capital’s Zangli area in a bid to mould the opinion of public in its favour ahead of the upcoming NA-4 by-poll.

All arrangements have been finalized for the gathering which will be addressed by PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

As the PPP is holding the public meeting in Peshawar, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had turned to Sindh province, the PPP’s home turf. The PTI will stage a rally in Sehwan today, which will be addressed by its chairman Imran Khan.

The by-election in the National Assembly constituency would determine popularity graph of the PTI, which has been in power in the province for more than four years now, and other parties, including the PPP, whose co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari had recently visited Peshawar to garner support for his party.

The NA-4 seat had fallen vacant after the death of Gulzar Khan, a dissident MNA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
