PPP says not consulted over Governor Sindh’s removal

KARACHI: As the incumbent Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad prepares to vacate the post, the Pakistan People’s Party on Wednesday said that it was not consulted over removal of the provincial governor.

Information Advisor Maulabux Chandio said that the federal government should have consulted them over the decision, and the appointment of the new governor. He decried the attitude of the government towards smaller provinces.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah contacted the leadership of the party to discuss the political developments arising from the governor’s removal.

The PPP leadership has expressed displeasure that it was not taken into confidence over the governor’s removal, neither was it consulted about the appointment of his successor.
