SARGODHA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all arrangements to hold transparent and peaceful by-election in the provincial assembly constituency PP-30 Sargodha tomorrow (Sunday).
A tough contest is expected between the candidates of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and main opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The total registered voters in the constituency are 1,73,919 including 98,145 male and 75,774 female.
As many as 137 polling stations have been set up in the constituency for the by-poll.
According to the polling and security plan, 137 presiding officers along with 417 assistant presiding officers and 834 polling officers would perform their duties on the polling day.
A heavy contingent of police would also be deployed in and around the polling stations for security. The polling in the constituency is expected to begin at 8:00 am in the morning and would continue till 5:00 pm in the evening without any break.
The seat was fallen vacant due to the death of former PML-N MPA Chaudhry Tahir on January 8, 2018.
