Politics not your business, go play cricket: Nawaz tells Imran

OKARA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday lashed out at Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and said politics was not his business, hence he should go back to play cricket.

“Politics is not your trade. Go play cricket,” he said mockingly, while addressing a public gathering in Okara, and added playing cricket too was not possible for him at this age. He also denied submitting his resignation on Imran’s demand.

Following Supreme Court’s formation of joint investigation team in Panama Leaks case against the PM and his family, Imran has said he should have resigned on ethical grounds so that an unbiased investigation could be conducted in “one of the biggest scandals of this century”.

Nawaz defied the opponents and said he would not resign. He said Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) would continue to construct roads and PTI would just keep measuring them.

He also took a dig at low turn out at PTI’s  recent public rally and said PTI’s rally and PML-N’s rally had a huge difference.

While praising dignity of female workers of his own party, the premier spoke ill of the opposition party’s women and said that “you know what those sisters were doing in PTI’s rally”.

PTI leader Shireen Mazari took the PM to task over criticising women workers of PTI and said, “The PML-N government is in utter chaos. PM attacks PTI women in panic.”
