KARACHI: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said that it’s high time now to sustain the progress as government is taking all steps to tackle security challenges.
The interior minister was speaking to media in Karachi after visit Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum on his 69th death anniversary.
“Overcoming of security challenges is essential for economic stability,” he remarked.
On the recent spate of terror incidents in Karachi, Iqbal said that terrorists were trying to lure the youth through social media. “A policy has been chalked out with the help of HEC [Higher Education Commission] to stem extremism at academia,” he added.

Soliciting support from federal and provincial government for countering terrorism, he said that National Action Plan (NAP) is being implemented with full vigour and commitment.
Lauding Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) efforts, Iqbal pointed out that the government is taking all steps to tackle security challenges.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Mohammed Zubair also visited the Quaid’s mausoleum to pay tribute to the father of the nation.
